DESCRIPTION
The UTC LC1126 is an ultra low output voltage linear N-FET
controller designed to p rovide well suppl y volta ge for
front-side-bus termination on motherboards and NB ap plications.
The UTC LC1126 integrates many functions. A Po wer-On-Reset
(POR) circuit monitors su pply vo ltages to preve nt wrong
operations. A POK indicat es the out put st atus with time dela y
which is set i nternally. It can control oth er converter for po wer
sequence. It can available for SC-59-6 package.
The UT C LC1126 can be e nabled b y oth er po wer s ystem. A
0.5V referenc e voltage with 2% accurac y prov iding tight
regulation of the output voltage, enable control, open drain power
good signal, under-voltage protection and soft start.

FUNCTION DESCRIPTIONS
Power-On-Reset
A Po wer-On-Reset (POR) circuit monitors the VCC pi n voltage (VCC) for po wer-on-reset function to preven t
wrong operation. The built-in POR circuit keeps the output shutting off until internal circuit is operating properly..
Internal Soft-Start
An internal soft-start provides an intern al soft-start circuitry to control rise rate of the output vo ltage and limit the
current surge during start-up. The typical soft-start interval is about 1ms.
Output Voltage Regulation
An error amplifier working with a temperature compensated 0.5V reference and an out put NMOS regulates output
to the pres et v oltage. T he error ampl ifier d esigned with hi gh b andwidth and DC gain provides v ery fa st transient
response and less load regulation.
Under-Voltage Protection (UVP)
UTC L C1126 monitors th e v oltage o n F B pin after soft-start pr ocess is finish ed. T herefore the UVP is dis abling
during soft-start. When the voltage on F B pin falls belo w the under-voltage threshold, the UVP circuit shuts off the
output immediately. After a while (~70% Duty), UTC LC1126 starts a new soft-start to regulate output.
Thermal Shutdown
A thermal shu tdown circu it limits the juncti on temperat ure of U TC LC1126. W hen the juncti on te mperature
exceeds + 150°C, a therma l sensor tur ns o ff the output N MOS, allo wing the dev ice to cool down. T he re gulator
regulates the output a gain thro ugh in itiation of ne w soft- start cy cle afte r the junctio n temperat ure co ols b y 50° C,
resulting in a pulsed output during continuous thermal overload conditions.
